With the last of the large aquatic features now in place, Fort Smith’s Parrot Island is “starting to look every day a little more like a water park.”
Construction crews recently installed the park’s final significant structure, a children’s play area, to complement colorful, towering slides, a winding “lazy river” and a freshly-painted wave pool.
“It gets people’s imaginations going seeing the play area,” Parrot Island General Manager William Miller said. “It’s starting to look every day a little more like a water park. All in all, we’re pretty close.”
Now, the park needs only its finishing touches like artificial palm
