Did you know it’s against the law for kids to set up lemonade stands? It is — for now – Star

Lemonade stands run by children can be found across the state, especially during the hot summer months.

There’s only one problem. They’re illegal in Texas.

Now a state lawmaker — Rep. Matt Krause, R-Fort Worth — wants to change that.

Krause has filed House Bill 234 to let Texans younger than 18 legally run stands selling lemonade or any other nonalcoholic beverages.

Water park winter punch cards will be offered to public

After a lengthy hashing-out, the Storm Lake City Council decided Monday to open up a proposed corporate discount for the Kings Pointe waterpark to the public.

Punch cards will be sold for $60 each, good for 10 visits to the indoor water park through the remainder of the winter. The cards will be available at the resort desk as soon as they can be printed, likely by this weekend.

The resort management had approached the council with an idea to make punch cards available to businesses in lots of four or more, in hopes they would purchase them as gifts

A mile-long drive-through Christmas light display is coming to Water World

FEDERAL HEIGHTS, Colo. — A mile-long Christmas light display will open Friday at Water World in Federal Heights.

The display is called Christmas in Color and allows vehicles to drive through a display with more than 1.5 million LED lights while listening to Christmas music that is synchronized with the display.

“You’ll drive by giant candy canes, snowmen, arched pathways and more,” the Christmas in Color website says. “It’s like being immersed in another world.”

The display will be open nightly through Dec.
