TEMECULA: Land for water park could fetch $2.85 million

The Temecula City Council this week approved the sale of land at the corner of Diaz Road and Dendy Parkway to developers who want to build a Wild Rivers water park.

The pricetag for the 17.4 acres was pegged at $2.854 million, which is roughly in line with a $2.3 million appraisal in 2012 for about 20 acres of the 32-acre city-owned parcel. If the sale is consummated, the money will be deposited in the city’s affordable housing fund, a vestigial tail of the Temecula Redevelopment Agency.
