STUART, Fla. — It’s spring break in Martin County, and the county’s waterpark opens right on time for kids.
Once seen as a risky investment, the family-friendly Sailfish Splash Waterpark banked nearly $1.4 million last year, with close to a $400,000 profit.
Last year, 13,000 season passes were sold, and 2013 promises another blockbuster year with 3,500 season passes sold in advance.
This year, the $9 million county-funded and run waterpark is adding rental cabanas with waitstaff and a gift shop. Cabanas can be rented daily for
