MUSKEGON COUNTY, MI. – There are plenty of locations to beat the heat in Muskegon County, many of them are free.
Those free locations include Pere Marquette Beach where early Friday morning the beach was busy with visitors.
Locals find the beach a quick place to go and cool down in the water. “This is great,” said Mary McClellan. At 10:00 a.m. it was so hot the frosting on her son’s doughnut was melting. The temperature was well above 80-degrees and climbing fast.
“I prefer like a solid 85-degrees,” said Jenny Merrill. Both mothers planned to keep their children in the cool water
